“Should I stay or should I go?”

Dylan moved to the east coast to attend school at a notable architecture program. Life is not easy for a nineteen-year-old freshman who’s trying to find his own identity. When he meets Jay, his handsome and rugged professor, Dylan finds the only person who believes in him. Their student-professor relationship blossoms into something much more than he intended. When Dylan's classmates find out how talented he is, they are quick to outcast him. With all this pressure, Dylan wonders if it’s better to leave it all behind to go back to the comfort of his hometown.

“Passion or profession, what do I choose?”

At the age of forty-four, Jay has built his own way to fame and fortune. Jay's name is a staple in the architecture world. His work is featured in countless magazines. He is also a well-respected professor in the architecture school. With his recent divorce and custody battle, all he has left is his love for inspiring young minds. That is until he meets Dylan. In all his years of teaching, Jay has never been more impressed by a student’s talent. When they enter in a design competition together, Jay can’t help but fall hard for him.

“Against all odds, can we make it together?”

With the pressure put on by his classmates, is Dylan willing to push past the pain to stay and be with Jay? And with his career in jeopardy because of this forbidden love affair, is Jay willing to risk it all to be with Dylan?

Jay to December is the first book in the Men of the Atlantic series about sexy men searching for love in the stormy coastal landscape. This standalone novel has a May-December theme with no cheating, no cliff-hangers, and a guaranteed HEA.

Dylan is a 19 year old who's left home for the first time. He has been so deep in the closet that he has to figure out who he truly is.

Jay the professor is going through a divorce and missing his kids. He ex wants his farm so she seems to be using the kids to get him to sign the papers.

Jay knows about each student and has been fascinated by Dylan. When he took them up to the roof he didn't know Dylan was scared of heights and had to save him from falling. Embracing Dylan stirred feelings in him that he hadn't felt in decades.

Dylan feeling like an outsider embraces the friendship with the professor to work on a competition project, the two began a relationship that must be secret too. When they are caught kissing by Christian the secret is out.

Not knowing what to do with this Jay makes a decision. Dylan also makes a decision after being tired of feeling like an outcast. Do they get their happy ever after? You have to read the book to see.

I do wish we had a little bit more background on the professor when he talks about the last time he kissed a man. After being married it may have helped understand the feelings he claimed to be missing with his wife and why she left him.

I voluntarily read an advanced readers copy of this book.

Poor development of characters. Hard to get into the story and identify with them. Immature older character with little regard for the younger male.
Jay' s sentiments were covered more in the story than D'ylan .I would have loved to know the young man's parents reaction to the age gap, otherwise a good read .
I wanted this story to be awesome because I really like the actual storyline. I liked the characters but feel that I never really got to know them. This is the story of a 19-year old prodigy architectural student, Dylan, who has traveled to a specialty college far from his home to focus on the study of architecture. He has an immediate visceral attraction to his 44 year old architectural history professor but hates history and in fact dislikes academics. He is socially awkward and we do come to better understand this within the context of the story. Dylan does likes design and drawing, particularly on the computer. We don't every really learn much about Jay's family and one must wonder if he misses the normal connections of friends and family.

The professor, Jay, is in the middle of a contentious divorce and custody battle. He is extremely impressed with the pre-admission profile of one of his incoming freshman students and discovers that the student is the young looking student that he noticed in his history class; the one who appears to have absolutely no level of engagement with the class and rarely even shows up.

The professor has had limited same-sex experience and doesn't consider himself bi-sexual but he is certainly attracted to this young student and he later finds that the attraction is more than mutual.

So far so good. The development of the sex scenes was rudimentary and some of the interactions between main characters were contextually immature as well.

As the story developed there were very good scenes and some that just needed more development. I liked the story very much and I found myself wishing that this author, with great potential, had a strong editor.
I really liked the story and how they instantly found each other. And when it came down to it they were happy and nobody was going to tear them apart. Thank you for writing such a good book. I will buy the next one. You can bet on it!
I have read several books by this Author and this one was slightly off for me but I still enjoyed the over all read. Don't get me wrong I bought the book and I did read it, I just had a few issues with a couple of the scenes. Without posting spoilers, lets just say that the preparation for sex for the first time was very short lived and in my opinion would have caused me a lot of discomfort. But that being said, the over all book was a nice read and I look forward to Ms. Blake's next book.
As an older gay male, first I have to say Jay to December personally touched my soul. Secondly, it's truly beautiful to read the passion involving a mature male.

In the architecture world, Jay was a star. Well known and sought after. Though his personal life was in a downward spiral. Divorce from his manipulative wife and estranged from his sons broke a part of him.
Then Dylan entered his class and his life changed. As one of the youngest students, Dylan felt pressure. Moving to a new place, the challenge was almost overwhelming. He was closeted in his hometown, he wanted to change that but had no idea his professor would be the object of his love. Not a stranger to the attraction and passion two men can share, Jay taken with this young man. So much could be lost, and it was but it didn't end what these two shared.
Well written and filled with passion, this book is worth adding to any collection.
Jay is a 44yo professor at a prestigious architecture college in Halifax Canada and going through a messy divorce from his cheating wife who wants custody of his two boys and everything else he’s worked for. First year student Dylan is 19yo and very self-conscious, shy and missing family and friends from home in Toronto. Many other first year students are much older, as in their 30’s, and very competitive. Jay and Dylan both brilliant in the field of architecture are drawn to one another. Much turbulence in their relationship and because of their relationship ensues before arriving at a satisfying HEA. LOVED this sweet but HOT and compelling M/M romance. I volunteered to review an ARC and I bought it. Such a great read!!
